1971 | The Department of Home Economics is established in the Division of Sciences in the College of Science and Engineering. |

The Department of Home Economics accepts its first class (20 students). The department transfers to the College of Education and is renamed the Department of Home Economics Education. The quota for new students is increased to 40. Professors Taehyun Lee and Hwakyung Seong are appointed. |
1973 | Master’s and Doctoral programs are created in the Graduate School. |
1976 | Prof. Han Yun Bong takes up a professorship. |
1981 | Prof. Lee gwiju takes up a professorship. |
1984 | jeong-ogbun takes up a professorship. |
1988 | The Home Economics Education major is established in the Graduate School of Education. |
1991 | Prof. Lee yeonsug takes up a professorship. |
2003 | Prof. Lee yunjeong takes up a professorship. |
2004 | The Human Ecology and Environmental Institute is founded. |
2005 | Prof. Yongbong Han retires. |
2006 | Prof. Seong hwagyeong retires. |
2007 |
Prof. Lim jeongha retires. The Human Ecology and Environmental Institute is renamed the Institute of Social and Emotional Development. |
2008 | Prof. Kim yugyeong and Prof. Lee yeyeong take up a professorship. |
2012 | Prof. Lee gwiju and Prof. jeong okbun retire. |
2013 |
The Graduate School’s Home Economics major is renamed Human Ecology. The Institute of Social and Emotional Development is renamed the Center for Human Ecology Research. |
2013. 11 | The department is selected as an Institute of Dietary Life Education by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. |
